Andy DeRier
Andy
DeRier grew up in Patterson, New Jersey, where he graduated from John
F. Kennedy High School in 1973. At a young age Andy gave his heart to
the Lord under the pastorate of the late William K. Wilson at the Pentecostal
Lighthouse Church. Andy later received the baptism of the Holy Ghost
at a coffee house ministry in New York city called the Lost Coin.
Feeling a call to the ministry, Andy attended Zion Bible Institute in
Providence, Rhode Island where he graduated in 1976. Two years later
in 1978, Andy became Pastor Andy DeRier of the Knoxford Praying Band
Church in Knoxford, New Brunswick, Canada. There he pastored the non-denominational
full gospel work for 24 years. In 2002 Pastor DeRier left the work in
Knoxford to become the pastor of the Easton Pentecostal Church in Easton,
Maine, where he currently serves as the Senior Pastor.
Pastor Andy is a gifted speaker and singer and has preached in many
places as the Lord has opened doors.
Pastor Andy is also a gifted leader and serves on a number of boards
and committees. Presently he serves as Chairman of the Aroostook County
Pentecostal Church Fellowship, a position that he has held from 1981
to 1995 and from 1997 to the present. In 1996, after the retirement of
Pastor Ronnie E. Libby as Camp meeting Director, Pastor Andy was called
upon to take over the position of Camp meeting Director for the Aroostook
County Pentecostal Camp meeting, a position he has held since 1996. Pastor
DeRier has also served on the Advisory Board of Barnabas Ministries of
East Providence, Rhode Island since 1989.
Since 1994, Pastor DeRier has served on the Souls Harbor Canada Board
of Directors, where he presently serves as its Secretary — Treasurer.
Pastor Andy married a young lady from Knoxford, New Brunswick, Canada
in 1977, by the name of Sonia MacDonald. Sonia graduated from the Centreville
High School in 1972, and went on to graduate from Zion Bible Institute
in Providence, Rhode Island in 1975. Sonia has an earned Bachelor of
Science degree in Bible from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville,
Pennsylvania, Class of 1977. Sonia grew up in Knoxford, New Brunswick
and was saved and received her baptism of the Holy Ghost, while attending
the Knoxford Praying Band Church during the pastorate of Rev. Fred Henderson.
Besides her role as a pastor's wife, and Sunday School teacher, Sonia
has also served as a supply teacher for New Brunswick School District
13 since 1991. Sonia is also a talented musician and has taught piano
since 1986.
Pastor Andy and Sonia have two sons, Andrew born in 1981, and Sterling
born in 1985.
Andrew is a graduate of World Impact Bible Institute in
St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada and is currently serving as Pastor of the
P.A.O.C. Coles Island Pentecostal Church in New Brunswick, Canada. Andrew
and his wife, Kristina, have three daughters, Nevaeh born August 15, 2006,
Amariah born September 10, 2007, and Kalliea born May 20, 2009.
Sterling currently works for Wal-Mart in Rockland,
Maine as an Assistant Manager. He and his wife Jasmine have one daughter,
Ava born September 9, 2007. They live in Warren, Maine.
